In-kind donations of paintings created by Janika LeMaitre are one way she gives back to nonprofits based in New England. Inspired by Earth's elements and her emotions surrounding the IVF process, what started as a hobby evolved into a deep love of meditative art.

SCAPES
Using colors based on the recipient's home decor theme, Janika will interpret a room and pull from those colors to help the space feel complete. The piece seen above was inspired by the collection of Japanese wall scrolls on display at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.

GRAFFITI
The Graffiti series is custom-made exclusively for an individual, adding a personal touch through their favorite colors. Janika takes her interest in graffiti she's seen during her travels and has turned the idea into a vibrant crowd pleaser; this is one collection that stops people in their tracks.

CHAOS
Largely focused on a feature color to enhance a room with an undertone that feels earthy. Janika's concept of inevitable changes experienced in life lends meaning to this series. Designed to create a "moment in time", owning a piece from Chaos perfectly elevates a space.

CONVERSATIONS
The dramatic internal conversations one can have with oneself are represented through the harshness of the splattered paint, with colors layering to create a back-and-forth effect. This is Janika's favorite theme for it shows how conflict can look interesting when in art form.

DREAM FREQUENCY
An undercurrent and an overcurrent are intertwined with intermediate currents, visually stating that dreams have multiple frequencies and we can have different experiences each time we are in a dream state. Can be created in a color scheme that complements any area.​

PARALLELS
Emphasizing Janika's belief that life happens in parallel with another. Although the two appear identical, they offer distinct experiences when viewed. Her Parallel series is a fascinating way to accentuate a wall space and is her most requested collection. They are also the largest canvases she works on.

FLOATING
Atherial and intentional, one of Janika's series can be created in both light and dark palettes. This piece, seen above, was made as a gift to her mother-in-law, enhancing the vibe of her master bedroom with a calming effect.

RHYME OR REASON
Taking a story or rhyme that captures the heart of Janika or the person she makes it for, stories are woven through the layering of colors and strokes of the brushes: A crazy mess that somehow makes sense. In addition, she will write the poem or words onto the canvas and thread them through the colors providing a personal touch.

CELEBRATION
Pinpointing a time of life where a celebration is captured and interpreted by Janika into art form. The piece displayed above represents New York City on New Year's Eve in 1973. She takes the idea and uses colors she envisions that make sense for the event.

OUTBACK
Having grown up in Australia, the outback makes a comeback through Janika's art, as seen in the vivid, earthy colors in this example. Her Australia collection transports you to the Great Southern Land; you feel like you can breathe it in.
